Milestones

Over the last 40 years, FrenChef Directors Ann Houston and Daniel Abad have achieved numerous milestones and gained recognition from the Australian Hospitality industry for their contribution to the industry.

Ann Houston’s Milestones

  • 1984 Completed a Diploma of Teaching (MCAE)
  • 1985 -96 Teaching and beef and wool production
  • 1996 Established a Café Restaurant in Toowoomba. Completed a Bachelor of Education.
  • 1996-06 Development of Restaurant to turnover in excess of $1 million. Awards numerous local and national awards in marketing, business growth and excellence.
  • 2006 Employed by Dept of Economic Development, Trade and Innovation as a Senior State Development Officer. Accredited Mediator.
  • 2007-10 Established Integra Management Services, assisting regional organisations in business development, human resource management, professional development and profitability.


Professional Credentials:

  • Owner and manager of businesses (agricultural, restaurant and business consultancy) from 1985 - 2010
  • Consulted and trained for a large hospitality franchisor throughout Australia


Academic Qualifications:

  • Diploma of Teaching 1984
  • Bachelor of Education 1996
  • Currently studying for Master of Business Administration

  • 1981 to 1995 Owner Manager of a Hospitality business
  • 1989 Appointed Member of Toowoomba TAFE College Hospitality Industry Advisory Council
  • 1989 Winner of the Toowoomba Chamber of Commerce Business Award - Fast Foods Section
  • 1996 Winner of the Excellence in Education from the Australian College of Education
  • 2001 Southern Queensland Institute of TAFE Leadership Award recipient
  • 2001 Official Launch of the Toowoomba International Student Exchange Scholarship programme

  • 2002 Winner of the Excellence in Education from the Australian College of Education
  • 2003 Winner of the Regional Business Success Group Minister’s Training Initiative Award
